1. Rated continuous current (Ir)
- RMS value of the current the switchgear and controlgear can carry continuously for its service conditions
2. Rated short-time withstand current (Ik)
- RMS value of the short-circuit current that the switchgear and controlgear can carry
in the closed position during its rated duration(tk) under its service conditions.
* rated duration(tk) : preferred value of rated duration - 1sec
- interval of time for which the switchgear and controlgear can carry, in the closed position,
a current equal to its rated short-time withstand current.
3. Rated peak withstand current (Ip)
- Peak current associated with the first major loop of the rated short-time withstand current that the switchgear and controlgear can carry in the closed position under its service conditions
- The rated peak withstand current is obtained by multiplying the RMS value of the rated short-time withstand
current with a peak factor.
- 50 Hz : 2.5 times
60 Hz : 2.6 times
